Does Emperion Guitars set up their instruments before shipping?

A part from the standard set up we offer for every guitar, Emperion comes to you with a professional service of custom set up. Our luthier lab will take care of your requests. You have to specify in the moment you order your instrument, the kind of set up service you prefer to access. If you won’t specify this or you will tell us you prefer to set it up by yourself, we will send you the guitar only with the standard set up. Considering the two different types of set up:

Standard set up:

  • standard string tuning (BEADGBE for the 7strings guitars, EADGBE for the 6 strings guitars);
  • installation and regulation of the pickups you choose;
  • fret levelling (only where necessary);
  • standard bridge setting.

This service is absolutely free (this does not include the cost of different strings from the standard ones neither the cost of the pickups different from the factory ones).

Custom set up:

  • custom string tuning (for every kind of tuning different from the standard one);
  • installation of the string scale appropriate to the kind of tuning;
  • installation and regulation of the pickups you opted for;
  • fret levelling (only where necessary);
  • custom bridge setting (the bridge settings depends on the string tuning).

This service will cost you 50 euro more in the total amount of the guitar (this does not include the cost of the strings neither the cost of the pickups).

We will take care to include a certificate inside the package of the instrument attesting the specs of the set up you asked for.

IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS

  1. we cannot send perfectly tuned guitars to other continents different from Europe, and to all the coutries too far to be reached by a road delivery service. The changes of pressure, temperature and altitude will instead risk to cause a serious damage to the instrument;
  2. the set up should not be considered the definitive one. The wood of every guitars responds to all the changes of the surronding conditions (such as temperature, ecc.). So you can consider the wood stable only after at least three months since you bought it. It is advisable to make another professional set up on the guitar after this period;
  3. every change of string will influence the set up. Even if you will always use the same string scale, the material they are made of, the different brand, ecc., may cause little tension differences which will alterate the set up. In those cases it is advisable to ask a professional help.
  4. please consider that the guitar set up is deeply influenced by your way of playing, environment in which you are going to play it and other minor factors like your own sweat acidity regarding hardware’s wear.
