EMPERION GUITARS AND BASSES IN A NUTSHELL

1. We’re a small sized company managed by a young and passionate team, currently based at the very border of north eastern Italy between mountains and the sea. Our headquarters are in the city of Trieste.

2. Our staff is composed by young and passionate people and long term experienced supervisors involved directly in the production process.

3. Emperion is a place for artists of every kind coming from the most different backgrounds.

4. Our staff is composed by artists as well in order to get a mutual benefit: made by artists for the artists.

5. We always consider the word of our customers and external musicians in order to catch what’s the best and what is not. If you have any advice CONTACT US and share !

6. Emperion supports a larger cultural network composed by music labels, bands, gig organizers, promoters, magazines (both printed and online), visual artists (both artwork and movie wise) and other cultural outlets. You can find them in our “support” column of our homepage in alphabetical order.

7. The vast majority of people at Emperion are extreme music enthusiasts: from black metal to neo-folk and from avant-garde in every form to noise and martial industrial. Therefore, being aware of the sometimes sharp contradictions of extreme art in every form, that we all criticize but we couldn’t live without, no-one at Emperion gets judged: creativity is always supported ! But there’s more of course: our staff is also composed by people coming from blues rock to metal-core backgrounds.

8. At Emperion brand names are considered only a label on an item if this does not include a significant quality difference (do you play guitar or the inlay on the headstock ?). Therefore we make our manufacturing choices (from wood to hardware to be used on the instruments) based on a quality/price ratio. This means that if product A (of a less known brand) has a ratio of 10(cost)/9(quality), and product B (of a major brand) has a 15(cost)/9(quality) ratio we choose the product A. All of this is done in order to offer a more affordable price to our customers.

9. We’re humans, not robots. This means that if you contact us and do not receive a reply during the week-end is because we’re having some deserved days of rest, we reply to all messages as soon as possible but sometimes it happens that your email can be lost or blocked by our spam filter, so if you don’t get a reply in three working days please re-send it. We work from monday to friday from 9AM to 18PM (GMT+1).

10. We reply only to inquiries received via email, this is part of our internal “social network disintoxication policy” in order to maximize efficiency balancing “desk work” and “manual labor” and leave to the customers their own spaces to discuss about what they like and what not. This is why you won’t see any official Emperion reply on any post of any forum or Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. We think that the world is already over polluted by unnecessary advertising.

OVERVIEW

Emperion Guitars was started in 2001 as a professional and passionate mid-size luthiers workshop by three highly-skilled lute-makers and merging American, Japanese and Italian craftmanships resuting from their twenty years experience in renowned guitar and bass companies.

We’re now a small sized company with the aim to produce and sell cutting edge music instruments for any demanding musician, and, last but not least, offering cost-effective quality products. “More quality, less money”.

We take great pride that our staff is composed not only by passionate people but we’ve found a way to merge enthusiasm and energy of young collaborators together with the experience and know-how of our senior supervisors.

Our supervisors are not just “supervising” the production process but are directly implied into it. We’re honored that at the head of our small but hard-working custom shop there is a world champion luthier.

At the very beginning our goal was and still is to provide quality instruments at an affordable price, it would have been more than easy to produce high-end instruments loaded with expensive (and often overpriced) hardware but this would have meant to sell only very expensive instruments, therefore we have chosen the best quality/price hardware, we’ve taken out the midman and decided to sell straight from our website.

Every adventure finds difficulties on its way so we had ours, read about it in our timeline below.

EMPERION GUITARS AS A GUITAR PRODUCING COMPANY:

2009 - First small production (Made in South Korea)

2010 - Second production (on a larger basis) supposed to be made in Japan where we encountered the following:

1) Production supervisor and man on place was a long term Emperion collaborator that had all of our trust and it turned out to a not completely satisfactory production that caused us several problems, both financial and personal. Not considering the scam suffered by an individual that we considered a friend we’ve found ourselves in the situation to have paid for something we didn’t get (from guitar hardware to quality control).

2) In order to remedy to this situation, in our opinion we’ve made everything possible to satisfy our customers, this involved issuing refunds to everybody requesting it as soon as we’ve been able to do it or by agreeing a more than honest compensation.

3) Of course this led to a controversial feedback, but it wouldn’t be honest to do not mention that we got a lot of extremely happy customers and a small percentage of unhappy ones.

4) In order to become stronger and learn from our mistakes and keep what was worth of being developed further we’ve taken a step forward by putting together “Emperion Revo” with the support of friends and collaborators that honestly offered themselves to help us.

2010 - The whole staff at Emperion is renewed and all guitar projects made from scratch. We’re currently now collaborating with a South Korean factory which is also a manufacturer for other well known high end quality brands. Read our FEATURES page to know more. This means that all the past productions are considerable as dismissed and we won’t be able to offer any assistance on guitars different from “Revo Series”.

2011 - Revo Series revealed !
